Meeting Topic: Video Interview with Bob Ezrin
Moderator Name: Steve Turnidge
Speaker Name: Glenn Lorbecki, independent engineer and PNW Committee member. Bob Ezrin, producer/engineer.
Meeting Location: Shoreline Community College, Shoreline WA USA
PNW met on a snowy February evening to watch an old, but still relevant video interview of producer/engineer Bob Ezrin. Shoreline Community College graciously made their theater available for the 11 AES members and 4 guests.
It was on May 1, 2008, when the PNW Chapter of the Recording Academy had a Studio Summit at what was EMP (now MoPop) in Seattle. The guests of honor were Bob Ezrin and Alan Parsons, interviewed by Glenn Lorbecki. The day was recorded in DVCAM, but the tapes never were captured - until now.
Bob Ezrin might be a bit less known than Alan Parsons, although he certainly has a large and impressive body of work to show for. His common point with Alan Parsons is his work with Pink Floyd as producer for their album,"The Wall."
In the interview, Bob discussed his varied production and mixing career ranging from Alice Cooper, Kiss, the first Peter Gabriel album, and Pink Floyd's "The Wall" in his inimitable style.
