Meeting Topic: March Monthly Update
Meeting Location: Webster Groves, MO, USA
It has been an exciting month here at Webster University. We had a guest lecturer on Friday, March 23rd. Brad McCoy, who is the Senior Studio Engineer in the Audio Preservation Unit at the Library of Congress, came and spoke to students about audio preservation, restoration, and the work that he does at the Library of Congress. On the following Tuesday, Emiliano Caballero of Leapwing Audio Skyped our AES chapter from Paris and talked with us about what it was like to start and run an audio business.
We also provided sound reinforcement for two different events this month. The first was Webster's Media Academy. We provided sound and audio support for four different presentation rooms, and two of our officers participated in the student showcase where they presented their work to different professionals. The second was a concert put on by Campus Activities. There were three bands that we provided reinforcement for which gave students hands-on experience with setting up and running a show.
As the school year winds down we are getting ready to nominate new officers for next year.
