The current essential tasks and priorities of AES Taiwan Section would be:
1. Education:
a) Provide basic audio knowledge in Mandarin language to the public (e.g. How to identify good mixing).
b) Organize lectures on professional topics during AES Section Meeting.
2. Translating:
a) Translate glossary of technical terms from the fields of Audio, Recording, MIDI, etc. This would be helpful especially for teaching.
b) Get academic materials from AES Sections in China via AES Taiwan, and translate the materials from simplified Chinese to traditional Chinese version.
c) Establish a working group in charge of translating (rather than working individually).
3. Platform:
a) Considering that the materials provided by AES are usually of an academic nature, it is encouraged that Taiwan members exchange more on practical experiences from their professional perspectives.
b) Facilitate exchange between members of the music field and of the audio engineering field.
c) Facilitate experience exchange regarding the audio field among Mandarin-speaking regions.
4. Promotion:
a) There's a regional gap regarding music production resources between the northern and central/southern Taiwan. The Taiwan Section aims to provide more resources for the center/south and hopefully help artists pursue a career in music producing.
b) Attend exhibitions such as speaker exhibitions on behalf of the Section and reach out to potential professional members.
5. Others
a) Re-open a discussion on the current noise regulations with the government.
b) The use of music in all related fields (e.g. games, films, VR) and its corresponding standards.
