Summary

Kerry Rose demonstrated a mixture of tips and tricks for recording, editing and mixing using ProTools providing insight into how to improve the efficiency of your workflow in the time pressurized marketplace. These workflows highlighted the updated interface, dozens of new plug-ins and virtual instruments, new scoring and MIDI features, and expanded editing and mixing capabilities of the recent ProTools release. Attention was given to both music production and sound for film. This was followed by special guest Stephen Hart's presentation of a mix in progress and some of his personal philosophy and methods for tracking and mixing in Pro Tools. The question and answer period that followed covered a wide range of topics including plug-in preferences for different applications, technical requirements for using the new release, and the increased use of compression that in recent music releases.
