Webster University - November 1, 2016

Summary

October served as a more relaxed month compared with the hustle and bustle of September (thanks to the Convention), but the Webster University AES section still offered a couple of exciting events for the audio students to enjoy. First, we debuted our annual Concert Series on the 7th. This is a concert held at the school that is completely student run and organized by our Live chair, Jake Boshears. We featured three local St. Louis rock bands, and had a large group of audio students volunteer to help set up and tear down the equipment. Later on in the month, after the students had fully recovered from midterms, we held a Soldering Workshop on the 28th. Under the watchful eye of our Involvement chair, Andrew Apprill, students practiced their soldering skills on XLR cables (to be used in future Concert Series) and contact microphones for the students to keep. We received a large turnout of students for this event, and hope to host more of these in the future. We have more big ideas planned for November, including a 12 hour recording session, and we will be adding a few more officers to help with our Central Region Audio Student Summit this March.
