Summary

General Announcements:
The meeting was started at 8pm on the dot. We began by discussing the previous Thursdays event, the Re-Amp build guided by Jeff Harris, and agreed it was a complete success. Next we briefly touched on the progress the AES officers had made on the event poll to gauge the student body's interest in various after school activities, and it was stated the project was coming together quite well. A short head count was taken on the member's enthusiasm in gaining internship hours through AES as well as a panel hosted by former students who are thriving in the field of Corporate AV. A show of hands confirmed the ideas would be followed up on next week. And lastly a friendly reminder was delivered about Mr. Phillip Biggs' Disney Broadcast panel on the upcoming Saturday July 30th held in the Gilbert campus live sound venue.
Old business:
With the opening agenda out of the way we moved on to old business from last week's meeting. A tour of Sun studios was confirmed to be taking place on August 6th after Lyric had gotten in touch with the manager and scheduled the visit. The specifics of an idea pitched last week were further brainstormed, a musicians roster were student's could sign up to be recorded for school projects. It was decided that the list would be rough drafted by next weeks meeting containing samples of the required information the musician roster would contain. Tony, Chuck and Lia would work on getting the roster polished and prepped.
New Business:
Evolving from a previously pitched team building idea, Lia suggested a mentorship program where students from cycles later in the CRAS curriculum would help mentor the students in lower cycles. To no one's surprise, the majority of the meeting's discussion circled the finer details of the mentorship program. There was blatant passion for the project and it was agreed the officers would take the idea to the school's higher ups to make it a reality. Tony mentioned he could run a clinic that involved building studio related equipment like pop-filters and simple studio treatment necessities. He would return with his creations in 2 weeks time to showcase what kind of items he'd be capable of teaching the organization to construct. Sam talked about an event involving building a mini-cigarette amp which led to a discussion on how much students would be willing to pay to build different types of equipment. A simple microphone build was brought up and Neil who would work on getting the specifics

worked out such as price and availability. The discussion moved to holiday related events and Chuck suggested a thanksgiving dinner. More recreational, networking events were brought up as well, such as and karaoke, drinks after exams, and just getting to know the AES team in a social setting. An agreement was made to have an end-of-cycle celebration at a local restaurant on the third week of each cycle
Final Announcements:
Neil closed with a quick reminder that Jim Bender would be teaching students to solder this coming Thursday and all students interested were more than welcome to attend. With all business discussed the meeting came to a close.
