From the 1st to the 3rd of june of the current year, in the Studio B of Universidad San Buenaventura in Medellín — Colombia, we held the first level of microphones certification by Audio Technica. It was ran by Audio Technica's engineer Juan Alberto Tamayo, AES associate member.
Twenty four people assisted, among them, students, professors and students of audio related careers.
The Engineer presented all the theory related to microphone use and the different kind of types, transduction and best practices in different environments. Followed by a comparison of different mics of any price range and technology. A quick review about headphones theory was also presented. At the end of the sessions, a test was taken by the assistants in order to get the first level of microphone certificate.
