In a joint work with the Colombia section of AES, Tuesday April 12th 2016 a showcase for live sound consoles was conducted at Centro Atico in Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. With a montage from the previous day, stands were organized for different brands to present their consoles. Simultaneously, lectures were given by different providers at Centro Atico's auditorium.
The event featured attendees from around the country and even assistants from Mexico and Latin America. The showcase was performed with 7 different suppliers: Avid, Yamaha, Soundcraft, Yamaki, Audioconcept, Behringer and DiGiCo. Each of these vendors had a stand in which they showed their consoles and explained their features to the attendees of the event. In some stands like Avid or Soundcraft, attendees could use consoles. This event took place throughout the day. Simultaneously, conferences occurred in Centro Atico's auditorium. These talks began at 9:15 am with Soundcraft by Nelson Canter. Then Yamaha by Diego Fernando Gonzalez; Behringer by Oswaldo Castro and Camilo Tirado; DiGiCo by Andres Gomez; Audioconcept by Jorge Altamar; Yamaki by Gustavo Lozada and Aicardo Pardo and finally the Avid talk by Ricardo Mantini. One of the drawbacks of the event was the size of the audience, and thanks to the large number of attendees there were people who could not enter some of the talks. To end the event, a panel discussion in which members of different brands participated until 6:00 pm was given.
