The event of Digital Consoles for Live Sound had the participation of diverse manufacturers through their distribution networks for Colombia. For this opportunity we had AVID through AVCOM Colombia, Midas and Behringer with Super Audio, Soundcraft by Makro Sound, DiGiCo thanks to Codiscos, Yamaha through Yamaha Musical, Presonus y QSC by Yamaki and Allen & Heath through Audio Concept.
Over 800 people attended the event, between the commercial exhibition and the conferences. During the day 7 conferences were offered by the manufacturers in the auditorium of the fifth floor of Centro Ático of the Javeriana University. All the presentations, without an exception, were completely full and it was necessary to enable an additional space with the audio and video of the conferences. In the exhibit the attendees had the chance to operate the consoles and mix multitrack sessions, from high end console formats for large venues and shows to small and portable systems that could be controlled using a tablet or any mobile device.
By the end of the day a discussion panel was offered and moderated by Nicolás Romero (Árbol Naranja and FOH engineer of the bands Superlitio and The Hall Effect) and specialists from every digital console brand. The discussed topics were interconnection protocols, DSP processing and the insertion of plugins in the different consoles; although, one of the major interests of the panel was how objective the panelists were and how all the companies, although they are immediate competition, develop their technologies looking forward to improve the work flow of their final users.
