Summary

The current AES student chapter president, Mitchell Hill, called the meeting to order at 8pm. We went around the room introducing ourselves, giving our name, where we're from, current cycle, and our current guilty pleasure in the form of music. After that, Mitch filled us in on the upcoming events on the schedule. This next Thursday, CRAS Grad Andrew Monheim of Monheim Microphones will be visiting CRAS to discuss his new microphone manufacturing line. Andrew is a CRAS grad who started manufacturing his own microphones and will be taking his time to explain how he got started with his microphone line after leaving CRAS. Following this event, Luke Smith, a product specialist from Waves will be making a presentation on April 8th. The final event currently scheduled will be a tour of Great Scott Productions, a video production company in the local area on April 21st.
We then moved on to future event ideas, starting with the greatly anticipated Student Run Live Concert, which we have plans to pursue as soon as we have more students certified to run the Live Sound room in it's entirety. We talked about having a cable wrapping battle, involving relays, and intense peer competition. We also discussed re-amp and sub-kick builds and gauged the interest in those DIY kits. The discussion also turned to possible venues in the area, such as the Mesa Arts Center and Premier Studios, a studio ran by CRAS grad Jeremy Parker. After all attendees had felt comfortable with the discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM.

Future Ideas:

Student Run Live Sound Concert
Music Theory Presentation
Retro Sound Card
Soldering Fundraiser
(W)rap! Battle
Re-Amp Build DIY ($35)
Sub-Kick Build
Jeremy Parker - Premier Studios *
Live Sound Venues (Mesa Arts Center / Arizona Arts Center)
