Coast Mastering is a well-established mastering house formerly at 1340 Mission Street, San Francisco. The building's owner decided not to renew their lease; coincidentally an little-used room at Fantasy Studios was added to a wing of Zaentz Media Center. The surround listening room was particularly impressive, with its high ceilings, step-up platform for L/C/R monitors and up-to-date D/A and analogue processing gear. AES members brought material of all genres to listen to; people were encouraged to move to different listening positions (and in one case, compare stereo and surround mixes).
