Summary

The Grad Panel took place at CRAS today from 1:30pm - 3:30pm with the whole school in attendance. About 10 AES members and 300 Non Members were in attendance. Afterwards the Grads came back to host an AES event at 8:00pm. The Grads included Andrew Wuepper who was nominated for Grammy's in the past for working with Katy Perry and Rihanna and most recently engineered the Justin Bieber song "Sorry". We also had Jeremy Parker who was nominated and won a grammy for working with Evanescence. He has also worked with Godsmack, Mudvayne and many others. Sorrell Brigman was nominated this year for working on Chris Stapleton's 'Traveller' We all wish her the best and hope that she wins.

At 8:00 PM, the CRAS Graduates were introduced to the (initially) small audience, and the Q&A session began. The audience began by asking questions about different recording techniques and the equipment preferences of the graduates. Chapter President Daniel Stephenson played a central part in the Q&A session, asking a wide variety of questions and urging the students in attendance to take notes on the discussion. More students slowly filtered in for the first hour of the meeting, and the conversation began to shift to the state of the recording industry and the way that studios are run. The conversation continued for the next several hours, and the Q&A session was ended at around midnight for the sake of the speakers.
