Summary

Luke Smith, North America Sales Manager and Product Specialist at Waves, came to CRAS to speak with students about the equipment and plugins that Waves have and offer. He spoke about some of their plug in collections such as the SSL 4000 Collection, The API Collection and the V-Series. Also the Artist Collections, such as Chris Lord-Alge Classic Compressors, Jack Joseph Puig Analog Legends and Eddie Kramer Tape, Pubs and Transistors. Then he showed an example of one of their plugins that emulates older equipment: Waves & Abbey Road presents: REDD. He spoke about how these and more plugins were developed and how they worked. Later on in the meeting, Luke opened up a session in Pro Tools to demonstrated how some of the plugins work by going through the tracks and the plug ins. He opened up a dialogue between the himself and the students about the plugins he was demonstrating, taking question as he went through the plug ins. After the demonstration, Luke spent time answering the students questions.
