Summary

Our student section of AES had the pleasure of touring Clear Channel Media with guide Joshua Chilton, a promotions manager. Clear Channel is home to 8 radio stations, the maximum mandated by the FCC. It is also home to a few internet radio stations and another radio editing service.

Josh guided us through 3 floors of control rooms, studios, machine rooms and offices. The control rooms were filled with older radio consoles and newer radio control surfaces. There was no shortage of gear in this building. Needless to say, we felt right at home.

We were also able to correspond with one of the radio personalities and sit through a live radio phone call. The phone call was recorded, then edited into a radio bit which was used later in the Dj's radio show.

This experience educated the students even further and gave them another career avenue to consider. Josh welcomed us back to Clear Channel anytime. We'll definitely keep in touch and visit Clear Channel in the future!
