Wes Dooley is not only one of the leading microphone designers in the world, but also has extensive experience in Audio Forensics, has authored several stereo recording system publications, and is an active member with AES worldwide. Wes first talked about how he got involved with forensic audio. He mentioned that he has worked on the L.A. riots and recovering audio from police/news footage by getting rid of much of the low end (there was a thumping noise caused by helicopter rotors). Dooley also spoke of the process of creating his world-renowned AEA ribbon microphones and proceeded to show us the capsule of the new AEA N22 mic. Wes also touched on how he became introduced to ribbon mics through contact with RCA (back when they made ribbon mics)
