AES Meeting Minutes 10.2.13
This week we did ear training with Auricula, and mix critiques. We also took our group picture for the yearbook.
AES CONVENTION TRIP:
We are awaiting word from the school and USGA about funding for the trip. We should know by next week whether we will be staying in New York overnight, and we will have a questionnaire to fill out and we will pick 10 students to go.
You MUST be a member of the national AES to go on the full weekend trip.
Saturday Oct 19th, there will be a day trip to the convention. Bus at 9 AM and leaves NY at 6 PM. It is open for whoever did not get picked to go on the main trip (assuming that happens)
If you want to go to the exhibit for free, and see all the companies and gear on the main floor, please sign up for a free exhibition floor pass on aes.org. Anyone can join and it's awesome.
Weds Oct 23rd: Mark Ryder presentation at 3:30 in Dodds Theater.
Friday November 1st: Multi-track field recording of the Marching Band. We would like people to please help out so they can record their performance.
Fall Fest this weekend! Nacho table help will be cool please.
There is a plan in the works to take a trip of ~10 students to Boston at Mix One Studios in November. We will be able to learn about other facets of sound recording such as vocal overdubs, jingles, commercials, post-production, etc. Basically stuff we don't touch on here in class.
Meeting Location: University of New Haven - West Haven, CT, USA
