Suggestions are very much welcome, we want to make your experience as worthwhile as possible!
Today we went over plans for the club, suggestions, and we worked in Auricula to train our ears.
Next meeting (Sept 11) there will be a headphone shootout, so you can test professional headphones before purchasing so you don't regret your purchase.
Next Thursday (Sept 12) — Chris Prescott will be talking to us in the Alumni Lounge in Bartels. Time TBD. Chris is a recording engineer and drummer from Pitback.
Meeting after next (Sept 18) will be a soldering workshop. We will learn and practice soldering cables in order to repair and build our own cables. It is a necessary skill as an audio engineer to have, and we want to help you learn so you don't set off the fire alarm like Josh did.
The Communication Department is looking for us to help out micing and recording the football game half time shows for each home game. Games are Saturday afternoons. We need at least 6 volunteers to rotate a series of 2 people at each game; please let Chris know if you are interested, we need LOTS of help.
PLEASE SEE DAVE TAYLOR IF YOU HAVEN'T SIGNED UP ON INSIDE UNH.
I have sent an email-invitation to all the people who signed up at the club fair, but many are still listed as pending. It is important to have you in the club, so you can vote, go on trips, and have your points count in order for us to obtain funding.
We will be taking a trip to the Audio Engineering Society's convention in NYC Oct 17-20. Eleven students will be going with school funding, however we will try and organize a way for more students to go for a day as it is fairly close to school.
If you have mixes that you are working on, we have mix critiques at the end of each meeting.
If you are interested in soldering your own distortion pedals, please see Chris Reba. He does workshops during his office hours to help teach you how to build these tools.
