Sparling, a nationally acclaimed engineering and design firm is seeking a seasoned leader for our growing audio/visual technology consulting practice based in the Seattle, Washington area. This individual will develop and strengthen the practice area by providing strategic direction and leadership; positioning and maintaining it as a key service offering.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategically guides the practice to meet firm and studio objectives; positioning and maintaining it as a key nationwide provider of A/V design services.
- Proactively seeks and engages new and repeat business for the practice area and firm.
- Manages A/V team, including hiring, engaging, developing, and retaining top-tier staff.
- Provides technical leadership, meeting project delivery and quality control standards.
- Participates in firm strategy and policy development and implementation.
- Collaborates cross-departmentally with other practice areas to deliver a unified menu of services to satisfied clients.
- Meets performance targets.
- Maintains current knowledge of A/V practice and related influences, trends, and technology.
- Represents the firm through public speaking engagements and attendance at industry and community events, meetings, and conferences.
Desired Qualifications:
- Outstanding client service skills with ability to lead studio members in delivering "the Sparling gold standard of service" to every client.
- Strong business acumen with ability to identify, develop and map strategy, prepare, interpret and manage budgets, and analyze business results.
- Business development skills with ability to identify and develop prospects, nurture key relationships, cross-sell services, negotiate, and engage business.
- Strong managerial skills; with ability to hire, engage, develop, and retain top-tier talent.
- In-depth knowledge of A/V systems design and owner operational considerations for A/V and sound distribution, presentation, video conferencing, session recording and playback, and telemedicine/tele-health systems projects.
- Ability to deliver audio/visual plans and specifications within the architectural/engineering market.
- Current understanding of cutting edge A/V technologies and trends.
- Existing network of established relationships with audio/visual integrators.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and polished presentation and public speaking skills.
Desired Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (preferred) in business or related field, plus at least 10 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing high-performing professional service teams.
- Proven track record of hiring, developing, managing, and retaining top-tier employees.
- Professional experience in the architectural/engineering design-bid-build process.
