Directions to Raitt Hall @ University of Washington, Seattle Campus

The University of Washington campus is located in Seattle, just north of the Lake Washington Ship Canal. It is bounded by I5 to the west, Montlake Blvd/25th Ave NE to the East, and NE 45th Street to the north.

The Raitt Hall doors are usually closed at 5pm, so we will have one entryway (doors 10A/10B in tiny black labels at the top of the doors) open for this event. This doorway is on the side of the building facing Denny Hall, which is opposite the grassy quad/cherry trees, to the right as you face the correct side of the building. Signs will be posted around the building.

To get to room 121 you have to go down the stairs as you enter, or take the elevator to level 1 (fully wheelchair accessible).

Raitt Hall on the University of Washington Seattle Campus is just north of the Lake Washington Ship Canal and east of I-5 at Exit 169. The main campus is bounded by 15th Ave NE to the west, Montlake Blvd/25th Ave NE to the east, and NE 45th Street to the north. The University is very large and has many entrances and parking areas. You cannot drive and park directly at the building. UW parking is tightly controlled, not cheap, and checked with camera cars with license plate readers. You might consider parking off-campus, or public transportation. The nearest light rail stations ("U-District" at Brooklyn & 43rd or "UW Station" at Husky Stadium) are still a 20-25 minute walk to Raitt. Here are two drive & campus parking scenarios:

$13 underground garage: From I-5 take Exit 169, eastbound on NE 45th St to 15th Ave NE. Turn right (south) on 15 Ave NE and go 4 blocks to the UW Central Plaza Garage on the east. A gatehouse should be staffed to sell you a $13 evening permit and direct you to your level. Walk to the Kane Hall exit stairs to emerge near the Quad, and Raitt Hall is at the far end left corner of the Quad. Self-serve parking is available on levels C02, C03 and C04 only. Drivers may bypass the gatehouse, park on levels C02, C03 or C04 and then use Pay by phone to purchase a parking permit.
$6.50 self-serve parking: From I-5 take Exit 169, eastbound on NE 45th St to 17th NE. Right turn on 17th NE, a campus entrance. Despite the gatehouses, they are not normally staffed, but you should look. If they are there, you can stop, pay, and get directions to the lot. If unstaffed, it is up to you to find a self-service lot (PDF map) and pay by kiosk with credit card, or using their Pay by Phone app.
