Central Texas AES Meetings
October 29, 2005 - Next Central Texas Audio Engineering Society Meeting - 4:00 to 6:00 pm
Fire Station Studio - Texas State University - San Marcos, Texas - MAP
Our next meeting will be after the 119th AES Convention in NY. The meeting date is October 29 which is a Saturday as we'd like to hold this meeting at the Texas State "Firestation" studio in San Marcos between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. The student section at Texas State has been active for approximately 5 years now and we need to connect with them and mentor them where possible and appropriate. They have a very nice soundstage and recording facility there that was formerly the Firestation Studio. Our program will be held in that studio and will include information highlights about the National Convention and a brief presentation from the Texas State Student Section on their activities. If any members or engineers from local companies who are presenting or debuting new products at the AES Convention this year would like to participate in this program, please contact myself or Mike Rovner asap to discuss your participation.
TSU is the only university in the state to offer a Bachelor of Music in the field of Sound Recording Technology. TSU operates the Fire Station, a recording facility housing both analog and digital 24-tracks, an automated console, and numerous professional microphones and outboard devices. Students participate in commercial recording sessions and have access to a computer lab and electronic music lab.
