Erik Lassi began working as an audio engineer in 1983 performing live sound reinforcement for theater, opera, and musicals in the Denver area. In 1985, he began working in recording studios and mixing live bands.
He began touring with bands and showcase variety ensembles throughout Europe and the U.S., working as a front-of-house (FOH) and monitor engineer.
In 1990, he served as the sound director for a U.S. Air Force Entertainment tour, performing at Air Force installations throughout the European theater. In this role, he trained and supervised a crew of six technicians.
Returning to the Denver area, Erik worked as the house engineer for a variety of blues and jazz clubs where he did live reinforcement mixing and recording of performances.
Formalizing his on-the-ground experience, in 1997, Erik earned his bachelor's of science degree in Music with an emphasis in Audio Engineering and Composition from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Erik began working on video and multimedia projects starting in the late 1990s. Over time, his video and multimedia projects grew to also include web and Flash development, 2D and 3D animations, producing online training and promotional videos, filming corporate and special occasions, film shorts, screenwriting, and working with local independent filmmakers in variety of capacities from editing and color correction to scoring and mastering.
As the industry changed and technology more accessible, the environment was ripe to effectively synthesize Erik's unique blend of experience and diverse skills and talents. He formed Cold Spring Productions in 2005 to begin supporting clients with their audio and video needs.
