Full Professor, affiliated with the Department of Energetic, Nuclear and Environmental Control (DIENCA) of the School of Engineering of the University of Bologna.
He teaches "Applied Acoustics" and "Environmental Technical Physics".
Vice-president of the "Acoustics" committee of UNI (Italian Standardisation Organisation) and convenor of the working groups "Noise screens" and "Determination of uncertainty in acoustics".
Convenor of CEN/TC 256/SC 1/WG 40 "Railways noise barriers".
Italian national representative in CEN/TC 226/WG 6 "Road traffic noise reducing devices" and primary drafter of CEN/TS 1793-4 and CEN/TS 1793-5.
Member of ISO/TC 43/SC 1/WG 38 "Sound absorption of road surfaces" and primary drafter of ISO 14372-1.
Full member, of AIA, EAA, INCE-USA, and AES.
He has been responsible of many research projects and authored about 130 papers.
Referee for five international journals.
Consultant in acoustics for national road and railway authorities, strategic projects, airports, industrial plants, buildings. Certified as "competent technician in acoustics" according to Italian law 447/95 and certified at level 3 (maximum) by CICPND.
