About

Alex Kosiorek is a multi-award winning engineer who specializes in classical, jazz and acoustic music. He focuses his attention on projects that promote high-quality reproduction, mixing and mastering through technologically advanced media and concepts. His credits include productions for notable record labels, artists and ensembles. Kosiorek began his career with the late Radio Smithsonian post producing the programs 'Folkmasters' & 'Jazz Smithsonian.' He has engineered for various studios including those centering the '96 Atlanta Summer Olympic Games. As the 1st audio fellow for the New World Symphony Orchestra, he delved into surround production, recording the symphony's European Tour in surround. Later becoming Radio Production Engineer & Producer for KUAT Communications Group ('Arizona Public Media') at the Univ. of AZ, he honed expertise in audio codec utilization, system design & audio processing, producing one of the 1st high-quality classical Internet streams; winning worldwide praise. He was instrumental in revamping the infrastructure of KUAT-FM's and KUAZ FM's audio systems for optimal performance (boosting audience growth of both stations long term). In 2002, Kosiorek became the Audio Recording & Mastering Engineer for the Corbett Studio/Cincinnati Public Radio, where he was chief engineer for the surround sound recordings & broadcasts of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, May Festival Chorus and other premier ensembles. He conducted in-depth tests of surround sound delivery systems and was instrumental in creating the 1st US radio station to commence 5.1 programming. Appointed Director of the Recording Services (formerly 'Audio Services') at CIM in 2006, he has overseen the modernization of the department and led a design team to complete the THX PM3 Certified Studio in a music conservatory worldwide. Kosiorek regularly contributes to trade publications, the AES and NAB. Kosiorek is regularly contracted as an independent engineer & consultant.
