About

My practice encompasses recording, live sound, sound system design & troubleshooting, technical writing, product design and evaluation. I don't do lights. I don't do video. I hate ladders.

Over 50+ years experience, with roles ranging from live sound and recording to circuit design, system design, sales and marketing.

These days, I am emphasizing remote recording for acoustical music.

Why Am I An AES Member?

When I joined AES (1970) it was one of the few ways that information about audio beyond what was in consumer magazines could be found. There was no internet, the personal computer had yet to be invented. The Journal was an oasis in a vast desert.

I've remained a member all these years because of the social nature of the society, especially at conventions and Section meetings. Membership has also allowed me to contribute in a small way to the Society's mission of connecting the art and science of audio, something that I feel is highly necessary given the culture of pseudo-science that pervades much of our field.
