Listen, Inc. - Manufacturing Manager

Listen is looking for an experienced professional to provide senior level leadership for Listen’s Manufacturing department. This involves directly managing the day to day operations of our electronics assembly area, while also implementing longer-term initiatives to improve our organization’s efficiency and effectiveness as we expand our portfolio of hardware products. This is a critical role, interfacing an established and successful manufacturing group with our customers, third-party partners, and other functional areas. The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for manufacturing, assembly, troubleshooting and repair of Listen products, packing and shipping, inventory and vendor management, and managing, training and mentoring of all manufacturing workers.
Reports to: Operations Director

Duties & Responsibilities include:

- Oversee all manufacturing functions to ensure timely delivery of Listen products and third-party products to Listen customers
- Establish and ensure compliance with manufacturing performance and quality objectives
- Liaise with Listen management and other departments to forecast and plan for product production to meet anticipated demand
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Listen’s Production Supervisor in areas such as
- Production scheduling to meet customer demand and sales forecasts
- Creation and maintenance of build and test procedures for all Listen hardware products
- Implementation of manufacturing best practices to maintain efficient, effective and safe build and test environments for all Listen and third-party hardware products
- Maintenance of a well-organized, safe and efficient shop floor
- Manage inventory of products, parts and supplies necessary for maintaining finished product target quantities and timely delivery of products corresponding to Sales forecasts.
- Establish parts reorder points
- Monitor parts inventory and replenish as necessary
- Manage vendors for on-time and quality delivery
- Report on product inventory to sales and company management
- Maintain finished product and third-party product inventory at agreed target quantities
- Coordinate quarterly cycle counts to verify and update inventory
- Receive and inspect all incoming shipments within defined time metrics, and ensure that data is accurately maintained
- Maintain accurate records for tracking demo equipment
- Manage pick, pack and ship for timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders
- Assess, select and manage vendors providing products and services necessary to manufacture and fulfill product sales; maintain second source vendors for critical parts and services
- Oversee repairs of Listen hardware and coordinate third-party repairs as necessary
- Coordinate Listen RMA process for addressing warranty and non-warranty repairs and product shipping
- Effectively troubleshoot hardware issues and facilitate related communications with Listen customers, partners and personnel
- Maintain accurate repair records, track and report on warranty and non-warranty repairs over time against established metrics
- Recruit, manage and mentor all manufacturing staff, including employees, contractors and intern/co-op students
- Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in electronic manufacturing, with at least 3 years’ experience in manufacturing management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to document procedures
- Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail
- Proven history of production planning and meeting delivery deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with manufacturing tasks such as evaluating suppliers, evaluating engineering designs, capacity planning, and production forecasting
- Strong understanding of standard electronic bench equipment and mechanical assembly
- Hands on experience in manufacturing quality management methods and procedures
- Proficiency in standard office software
- Strong leadership skills
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, or an Associate’s degree plus relevant experience
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

Advantageous

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience with troubleshooting, debugging, and reworking electronics
- Experience with Salesforce or QuickBooks
- Previous experience or an interest in acoustics / sound engineering
