Position Summary:

This position is for an FPGA Design Engineer with 1 or more years of development experience. The position requires a self-motivated individual with a strong desire to succeed/excel whose primary responsibility is designing and developing FPGAs for use in compute and switching systems. As a Hardware Engineer, the candidate is responsible for PCB board level electrical design and testing, contributing to functional product specifications and working closely in a team environment. This individual should have a strong, positive attitude and the ability to easily multitask. They should possess strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

Job Responsibilities:

Design and develop Digital circuits and FPGAs for audio data switching and DSP and CPU products.
Manage assigned tasks and schedules.
Follow engineering standards and procedures for Circuit, PCB and FPGA development.
Work with a team of engineers to bring products to the professional audio industry.
Support others within the company as needed.
Maintain and support existing products.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 1 year of Verilog or VHDL programming experience required.
Experience with both Intel (Altera) and Xilinx FPGA device families.
Basic Electrical Engineering design skills including schematic capture and PCB layout.
Basic Electrical Engineering test skills including usage of various forms of test/measurement equipment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and meet project deadlines.
A positive attitude is a must.
A strong desire to exceed/excel in an environment with high-quality engineers is a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in consumer and professional audio and video.
Knowledge of the various interconnect protocols like I2C, SPI, I2S, DDR, PCIe, Ethernet.
Knowledge of TDM data switching principles.
Knowledge of high-speed digital circuit and PCB design.
Knowledge of DSP concepts such as IIR, FIR and FFT.
Familiarity with using FPGA High Speed SERDES features and DDR3/DDR4 memory interfaces.

Willingness to work in an office in Richardson, TX
Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
