To expand our team in the »Audio for Embedded Systems« department of Fraunhofer IIS in Erlangen, Germany, we have an immediate opening for a Software Engineer (f/m) Real-time processing of audio signals
Are you keen on real-time processing of audio signals? Do you want to help develop the technologies of tomorrow in this field?
In that case, your future starts with us!
As part of our team, you will have the chance to design and optimize audio coding and audio processing algorithms for the use in close-to-hardware environments, which will be used in many millions of devices - such as TV sets, digital radios or smartphones. You will develop, test and simulate platform independent software for digital signal processors, as well as for embedded and mobile systems - and you will test and validate them on prototypes and end user devices.

The research team for audio and media technologies has been working on audio and image coding as well as
on multimedia technologies for more than 25 years, and made a name for itself due to its significant contribution to the development of mp3 and AAC.
Fraunhofer audio technologies can be found in more than ten billion devices and have already been licensed by more than 1,000 companies.

What we expect from you

- University degree in the field of Engineering or Natural Sciences
- Solid skills in the programming language C
- Basic knowledge of digital signal processing, particularly related to audio signals
- Advantageous: programming know-how in the field of digital signal processors, audio coding expertise and programming experience with Android and iOS operating systems
- Good oral and written communication skills in both German and English
We are also happy to welcome applications of committed junior professionals with prior knowledge and first practical experience from internships, student research projects or final theses.
