Position Summary:

Harman Professional is seeking a talented and highly motivated engineer to join our Transducer Engineering department. Our technical and market leadership is driven by the best transducer (woofers, compression drivers and midrange drivers) technology and products in the world. This is an opportunity to join an elite team to develop the next generation of world class professional sound products.


Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibility


Job Responsibilities:

Research, development and design of new transducers for professional applications
Create innovative solutions that advance Harman’s leadership in its core markets
Increase our “digital” capability (computer simulation, modeling, DSP, etc.)
Sustaining engineering support of manufacturing at various international Harman production facilities


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics or Acoustics
0-4 years of experience
Capability to work in a self-sustained mode
Skills for accomplishment of projects on time and ability to “get things done”
Willingness and capability to learn
Working knowledge and experience in software systems and programming
Knowledge of transducer physics
Knowledge and experience in using simulation software (FEA COMSOL, SolidWorks, Matlab, etc.)
Knowledge and experience in using test and measurement equipment (Klippel, Listen SoundCheck, CLIO, TEF, etc.)
Strong desire to work in the audio and sound business
Work in a collaborative, team environment


Preferred Qualifications:

Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, or Acoustics
Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control
4+ years of experience
Willing and able to think “outside the box”


Eligibility Requirements:

Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA
