Shure Incorporated - Acoustical Project Engineer

Are you an acoustical expert? Our product development team is looking for talented engineers with MEMS or array development experience.


The Acoustical Project Engineer will executes Shure's multi-phase engineering projects involving the development and documentation of electroacoustic products and systems; work with minimal guidance from senior staff by obtaining assistance with new or complex assignments; conduct and evaluate experiments for development of new designs or production related design concerns by typically implementing the standard Scientific Method. Execution of the projects may involve multiple phases running either concurrently or consecutively; generate and analyze creative and effective design concepts using appropriate computer models. This would include applying equivalent design theory to transform a mechanical model into an electrical or acoustical model. Implement in-depth practical knowledge of electroacoustics and the important factors that affect designs including dynamic range, THD, frequency response, polar patterns, and sensitivity; Fabricate complex working models from design concepts using appropriate tools; understand and implement, from a theoretical and practical view, the typical materials used or suggested for use in the construction of electroacoustic transducers and systems; effectively use and recommend typical measurement tools for confirmation of new designs or to improve productivity and quality of existing designs; fully understand the many practical aspects of how the customer will use the finished product and often assume the role of a functional leader on a development team which may include mentoring less experienced acoustical engineers and team members.


Candidates must have earned a B.S. in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Acoustical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of related work experience, or M.S. with a minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
