The Production Test Engineer (PTE) is responsible for implementing and maintaining manufacturing tests for all products that acoustically measured, but there may be occasional work with other product categories. Responsibilities are designing test fixtures, creating test scripts, and designing/maintaining production test procedures and processes.
Daily tasks include providing technical support for all QSC manufacturing including CM suppliers, troubleshooting to component level, analyzing production test data and providing detailed reports. Performs a variety of tasks directly related to quality, integrity and the validation of new products manufactured to designed specifications. This position will require some international travel.
BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Acoustics.
1+ years making electronics and/or acoustic measurements (SoundCheck experience a plus).
1+ years writing computer programs or equivalent course work (Labview and C# experience preferred).
1+ years assembling or repairing speaker systems and/or transducers.
1+ years developing automated test and measurement systems.
Familiar with the application and use of digital multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
Proficient with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience creating and interpreting technical drawings.
Experience making reliable audio interconnect cables.
Analyze new products to determine test equipment requirements including estimating and justifying the cost of new test equipment.
Provide cost reduction improvement through test design and test procedures.
Assist Technicians and Engineers with product support and troubleshooting issues.
Devise, write, and ensure the use of efficient and accurate test procedures.
Maintain test procedure documentation and production performance information.
Train or supervise the training of operators in the safe and proper use of all test equipment, procedures and troubleshooting guides.
Work with required departments on new product introductions.
Perform on-line product reviews, monitor defects and product field failures.
Determine the maintenance and calibration schedule for production test equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
