Senior Manager, Engineering Program

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Engineering Program role at DTS requires a highly motivated leader to lead multidisciplinary projects through the entire lifecycle. The candidate will exhibit strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, proven organizational and project management abilities. Ideally, you will combine a passion for building new software products, with a broad commercial knowledge and a strong technical grounding in audio.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to capture, scope, cost and prioritize new product requirements and features
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop project schedule and set milestones based on agreed product requirements and roadmap
• Track and manage all aspects of project management including status reporting, and documentation
• Work closely with engineering teams to define reference design and test requirements
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering degree is required and an advanced degree is a plus
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in technical program management
• Excellent planning skills and attention to detail
• Experience with MS Project
• Experience with Agile Scrum and / or Kanban methodology
• Experience with issue tracking and version control software is a plus
• Experience as a product owner or technical product manager with experience bringing new technologies and products to market
• Direct experience creating software audio products for the CE, mobile or PC market is a plus
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects across multiple functional teams
• Must have a strong technical background, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) preferred


Other Skills & Abilities

• Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for shipping product.
• Technical understanding of Android, iOS and/or Windows audio architecture
• HTML 5 and cross platform development is highly desirable

Android Developer - Middleware & Apps (SDK/NDK)

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

* Full-cycle software development, including: participating in weekly sprint update meetings, participating in code review sessions, as well as testing and deploying builds
* Feasibility studies on new devices to determine if it's a suitable development platform for our application.
* Adding features and integrating new service layers as needed
* Creating technical documentation to assist device manufacturers with integrating middleware into the build system.


Required Education and Experience

* Minimum B.S. in Computer Science, M.S. in Computer Science preferred.
* Strong Java and C/C++ development experience
* Android development experience must include:
- Building Android OS from source
- SELinux Policies
- Android application and native software development using the SDK/NDK.
- Linux device driver experience
- Client/Server programming using AIDL.
* Familiar with version control tools (GitHub, SVN or similar).
* Experience developing in an Agile or other iterative methodology environment

Software Test Engineer - Android & Embedded

We are seeking a Software Test Engineer who will design, implement, and execute test scenarios for highly networked media systems for home media products through their life-cycles. You'll be a part of our software engineering team, ensuring the highest levels of test coverage and driving test automation. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Create and drive test automation for the team for our Linux environment and native/OS-level mobile app development environment
• Design and execute test scenarios for networked media software, including OS kernel and middleware
• Procure or create test data required for testing
• Set up the required test beds (hardware, software and network)
• Digest and write technical papers and presentations
• Write clear and concise technical documentation and correspondence


Required Education and Experience

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, MS preferred
• At least 3 years of experience in software development and testing, including knowledge of automated testing frameworks and tools
• Minimum 3 year experience with C/C++ programming and native (SDK/NDK) Android development
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming
• Understanding of Linux system including device driver architecture and implementations
• Understanding of MCU firmware development including RTOS for MCU devices
• Understanding of compressed audio codecs including MP3 and AAC
• Understanding of multimedia network protocols (mms, rtp, rtsp, dlna, etc.)
• Understanding of principles of multimedia frameworks
• Understanding of issues arising from network programming and troubleshooting ability
• Experience developing for and creating automated unit test frameworks

You will work closely with the Principal Engineers and Software Architects, Product Managers, and other software engineers to develop new products and improve existing ones. To be successful in the role, you will be expected to:
• Take ownership of major features for existing and new products.
• Take an active role in schedule maintenance, providing time estimates, and task breakdowns for high level project requirements.
• Provide technical input to other programmers and mentor junior programmers as appropriate.
