Senior Director, Systems Architecture

Job Summary

DTS is looking for a Senior Director, Systems Architecture to be based in our Calabasas, CA headquarters. This is a rare opportunity to join DTS in a role focused on driving the specification and deployment of our technologies into industry-leading consumer products in the connected-home and connected-auto device markets. You will be an integral member of a globally-deployed team of audio application and solutions engineers, working closely with key customers and strategic partners worldwide.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• We will rely on you to ensure all internal and external stakeholders are aligned during the audio systems planning and design process, including DTS-internal R&D and Product Engineering, as well as, audio experts representing System-on-a-Chip (SoC) solution providers, Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs) and OEM customers.
• You will support pre-sales customer engagement with detailed technical presentations to the customer while providing rigorous technical qualification of new business opportunities. You will become a key voice of the customer, providing concise and complete requirements capture as input to larger technology planning and prioritization processes, thus ensuring our products are relevant with respect to near-to-mid-term customer and market needs.
• You will be an effective day-to-day liaison between the DTS Technology Organization and other DTS corporate business functions, such as Program Management and Business Line Management.

Required Education and Experience

• Demonstrated success in leading audio or multimedia systems architecture from latter stages of algorithm development through their implementation on SoCs and/or integration into consumer products.
• Depth of knowledge of network-connected devices, such as Set-top Boxes, IP-based Digital Media Players, Smart TV’s, etc., is a must.
• M.Eng., MSc degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline is required along with 10 years of experience in product engineering, applications engineering, and/or related area is a requirement of the role.
• Demonstrated capability in developing applications on various industry-standard platforms (e.g., on SOCs, DSPs) along with and related development tools.

Certification Engineer

Job Summary

DTS, Inc. is searching for a qualified Certification / Test Engineer. This key role will be responsible for the certification testing and evaluation analysis of DTS Decoding and DTS Audio Post Processing functions for multiple markets inclunding home consumer, automotive, PC, and broadcast.
•Responsible for ensuring that all licensed products are tested for functionality and performance according to assigned schedules and standards.
•Support the introduction of new certification test materials, procedures, and processes.
•Develop tools and procedures to improve the flow and automate the workload of the Certification team.
•Carry out the certification testing of DTS Decoding and DTS Audio Post Processing solutions, generate and review test reports to ensure each solution meets the DTS standards.
•Provide customers with technical support by issuing non-conformance reports, evaluating and responding to corrective actions.

Senior Software Engineer, SQA

DTS is seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer to work with a global, highly-skilled team of engineers based out of our Shanghai office. The successful candidate will work closely with the Manager, DSP Platforms, product managers, and other talented software engineers to develop new audio product offerings and improve existing ones. The Senior SQA Engineer will be planning, designing, and creating automated tests in a continuous integration environment to fully exercise the audio processing blocks of post-processing and codec technologies.

• Experience with C/C++ programming and at least 2 scripting languages (Batch/Python/Perl), CMake required.

Senior Product Manager - Home Audio

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Working as part of a cross-functional team including Marketing, Sales, and Engineering, the Senior Product Manager will be responsible for driving growth in his/her target markets while having the following key functions:
• Opportunity identification, market segmentation, and pricing:
• Create and maintain a product portfolio targeting high-value market segments
• Sustain an in-depth knowledge of the target markets, ecosystems, and market dynamics/trends
• Identify, quantify, and prioritize new market opportunities
• Define product pricing strategies for both growth and preservation

Customer Engagement

• Serve as project manager and the single point of contact for key customer engagements, orchestrating the technical, marketing, and certification activities
• Travel as needed (up to 30%) to engage directly with customers
• Manage customer expectations and product pipeline (solution delivery, feature requests, risks, certification, marketing, and customer support)
• Establish effective demonstration systems for each product in order to clearly illustrate value to customers
• Define best demonstration practices, including demo content and demo scripts

• Work with Marketing to create sales materials detailing product value propositions and key selling points
• Proactively set and maintain market pricing for DTS solutions
• Participate in revenue forecasting for these given markets

• Regularly research market developments and end-product functionality to establish expertise and deep understanding of market needs and technology trends
• Train the FAE and sales teams on new products, including how to sell and demonstrate them effectively

Required Education and Experience

• 5 or more years of relevant experience in product management, ideally in Home Theater or Consumer Electronics with experience bringing new technologies and solutions to market
• Demonstrated experience in project management in cross-functional environments
• Knowledgeable about digital audio, audio/video formats, and streaming technologies
• Proven strong business and technical planning acumen with a clear ability to create, validate, and execute on a growth strategy in the above-mentioned markets
• Proven ability to manage multiple Tier 1 global customers
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering degree is required. An advanced degree is a plus.

Sr. Account Manager - Japanese OEM Automotive

- Make a convincing case for automakers to standardize DTS audio technology on all future media platforms by developing effective selling strategies

- Identify and maintain business and technical relationships with Japanese automakers and licensed suppliers

- Learn the customer program development timing and share with key DTS personnel including engineering sample build dates, evaluation ride timing, certification dates, start of production dates and radio take rates
- Participate in vehicle/radio ride evaluations

Required Education and Experience

• Ideal candidate will have 10 years of proven success in program management and or sales account experience at a Tier 1 OEM supplier, preferably calling on Japanese OEM’s
• At least five years of previous work experience with multimedia and telematic products in the automotive industry
• BS/BA degree, Master’s degree preferred
• Ability to speak and write fluently in English and Japanese, including the use of both languages in a business setting
• Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
