Director of Product Management, Mobile-PC-Gaming

The Director, Product Management role at DTS requires a highly motivated, detail oriented, leader to manage the product portfolio (from new product launch through end of life) for the PC and Games Console market in DTS. The role will require an energetic candidate to manage product execution from R&D through to delivery of final product across multiple platforms. The candidate will exhibit strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, proven customer engagement and project management abilities. Ideally, you will combine a passion for building new software products, with a broad commercial knowledge and a strong technical grounding in audio.
Working as part of a cross functional team with Marketing, Sales and Engineering, this person will be responsible for driving growth in their target markets and will have the following key functions.


• Opportunity identification, segmentation and pricing:
o Create and maintain a product portfolio targeting high value market segments
o Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the target markets, ecosystems, dynamics and trends
o Identify, quantify and prioritize new market opportunities
o Recommend product pricing and pricing strategies for both growth and preservation
o Definition of new product categories


• Product Owner
o Requirements and feature definition: Working with stakeholders in DTS and customers to define and capture the business value and ROI for features and products
o Engage customers to understand their product needs and encapsulate as a collection of customer user stories
o Maintenance of a rolling 18month roadmap for each market
o Scope Control: Manage the trade-offs between new features vs. maintenance and expansion of the current product feature-set
o Work closely with engineering teams to define additional SDK requirements, including certification expectations
o Project risk and product lifecycle management


• Customer Engagement
o Act as the project manager for lead customer engagements
o Be the single point of contact for lead-customer engagements orchestrating the technical, marketing, and certification activities. Responsible for escalation and reporting issues to the MPG team
o Manage customer expectations and prioritization on the execution pipeline (delivery, feature requests, risks, certification, marketing and customer support requests)


• PC and Games Console Subject matter expert. Support sales through
o Creation of product value proposition and key selling points
o Competitive analysis for internal and external consumption
o Definition and creation of sales kits for new products
o Support sales training activities


• 12 or more years of relevant experience in a Product Management role in the PC, Games console, Games or CE market with experience bringing new software technologies and products to market
• Demonstrated experience as Product Owner (Agile) for various software development projects required
• Experience with audio/video standard and codecs, Windows application development environments, and Windows Audio technologies required; Audio industry experience preferred
• Proven strong business and technical planning acumen with a clear ability to create, validate and execute on a growth strategy in the above-mentioned markets
• Proven ability to manage multiple Tier-1 global customers
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Electronic Engineering, or related engineering degree with significant Product Management knowledge is required and an advanced degree is a plus.

• Experience with software deliverables.
• Knowledgeable about audio, audio formats, video, video formats and streaming technologies.

ARM Engineer

DTS is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join the team developing HD radio receiver software. This is an exciting opportunity to work on software defined radio for ARM Cortex A series processors.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include but are not limited to implementing the HD radio receiver functions, integrating the HD radio software into third party software frameworks, software testing and debugging.
• May travel internationally up to 10%.


Required Education and Experience

• Master's degree in computer science or engineering preferred. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum of three years experience in the Consumer Electronics, Automotive or related industry.
• Proficient in C and Linux OS for embedded platforms (preferably ARM Cortex based).
• At least 1 year experience with real-time SW integration
• Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to efficiently support international partners.

Senior Manager, Engineering Program

• Work with cross-functional teams to develop project schedule and set milestones based on agreed product requirements and roadmap
• Track and manage all aspects of project management including status reporting, and documentation
• Work closely with engineering teams to define reference design and test requirements


Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering degree is required and an advanced degree is a plus
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in technical program management
• Excellent planning skills and attention to detail
• Experience with MS Project
• Experience with Agile Scrum and / or Kanban methodology
• Experience with issue tracking and version control software is a plus
• Experience as a product owner or technical product manager with experience bringing new technologies and products to market
• Direct experience creating software audio products for the CE, mobile or PC market is a plus
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects across multiple functional teams
• Must have a strong technical background, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) preferred

Senior Director, Systems Architecture

Job Summary

DTS is looking for a Senior Director, Systems Architecture to be based in our Calabasas, CA headquarters. This is a rare opportunity to join DTS in a role focused on driving the specification and deployment of our technologies into industry-leading consumer products in the connected-home and connected-auto device markets. You will be an integral member of a globally-deployed team of audio application and solutions engineers, working closely with key customers and strategic partners worldwide.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• We will rely on you to ensure all internal and external stakeholders are aligned during the audio systems planning and design process, including DTS-internal R&D and Product Engineering, as well as, audio experts representing System-on-a-Chip (SoC) solution providers, Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs) and OEM customers.
• You will support pre-sales customer engagement with detailed technical presentations to the customer while providing rigorous technical qualification of new business opportunities. You will become a key voice of the customer, providing concise and complete requirements capture as input to larger technology planning and prioritization processes, thus ensuring our products are relevant with respect to near-to-mid-term customer and market needs.
• You will be an effective day-to-day liaison between the DTS Technology Organization and other DTS corporate business functions, such as Program Management and Business Line Management.


Required Education and Experience

• Demonstrated success in leading audio or multimedia systems architecture from latter stages of algorithm development through their implementation on SoCs and/or integration into consumer products.
• Depth of knowledge of network-connected devices, such as Set-top Boxes, IP-based Digital Media Players, Smart TV’s, etc., is a must.
• M.Eng., MSc degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline is required along with 10 years of experience in product engineering, applications engineering, and/or related area is a requirement of the role.
• Demonstrated capability in developing applications on various industry-standard platforms (e.g., on SOCs, DSPs) along with and related development tools.

• Must have experience working with an multi-national employer and/or international customers
• Persuasive verbal and writing skills with a good command of English
• Must be willing to work in teams both as an effective leader or key player
