Make sure the device works as it’s supposed to. That, of course, includes mechanical, hardware, firmware, regulatory, manufacturing and all other things it takes to make a product.
Work with everyone, including our manufacturing partners and Senior Management, on device design, test planning and test execution.
Develop test plans and test cases based on functional requirements, technical requirements and common sense, as you also need to figure out what else needs to be tested even if it’s not in the requirements.
Make sure relevant tests are executed in each phase of development and into mass production and that issues are communicated and fixed.
Be the quality advocate and inspire others to follow.
Drive bug reviews and manage relevant goals and metrics.
Triage incoming bugs and assign it to the right person
BS (or equivalent) in EE/CS with at least 4 years of experience with Consumer Electronics Devices and embedded platforms.
A solid understanding of Quality Assurance process and methodologies.
Effective interpersonal skills (presentation, written and oral) and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
Strong problem solving skills and ability to root-cause problems, whether in software or hardware.
Experience with the regulatory process (world-wide)
Must be able to work independently and drive issues across groups.
Demonstrated ability to work in a deadline driven project environment.
Experience with Bugzilla/Testopia, Jira or similar systems
Test automation experience with PERL, Python or other languages.
Experience with embedded Linux or RTOS, C and C++.
Track record of shipping great products.
