Program Manager - Agile Software Processes

The Software Release Program Manager plays a key role in the development of CSR’s key software deliverables (including but not restricted to, embedded DSP firmware in chip level products, development tools and test software), actively managing the development process from requirements capture, planning and resource estimation through to design, implementation, industrialization and eventual volume production.


Key Responsibilities:

• Capture software development requirements from customer e.g. sponsor BG product line, external and internal customers
• Produce and maintain a detailed Software Development plan;
• Negotiate for and manage program resources;
• Coordinate technical activities across multiple software development and test functions, as well as will other functions and development groups;
• Resolve issues or conflicts locally, or escalate as necessary to ensure progress to plan;
• Communicate development status to program sponsors at Program Review Boards;
• Risk Management and action tracking;


Qualifications:

• Degree (or equivalent qualification/ experience) in maths/science/software/electronics
• Strong project leadership skills, ability to motivate
• Knowledge of Agile software development and management processes and practices
• Proven project management skills, with a focus on timely delivery and a track record of successful management of complex technical projects
• Decision-making skills with a focus on problem identification, solution recommendation and implementation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to a range of audiences
• Sound understanding of the key technical elements to software development


Additional Desired Skills:

• Certified Scrum Master
• Awareness of wireless technologies (for example, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, UWB) and DSP for audio processing
• High degree of IT literacy
• Experience as a SW developer in a team environment

Audio Researcher - DSP Codec

We are looking for a Senior Audio Researcher to be involved with research leading to the implementation of proprietary audio codec solutions. Investigations will define improvements and extensions to existing codecs along with requirements and road map for future solutions.


Responsibilities:

• Supporting project management including definition of project scope and schedule for assigned projects
• Maintenance and improvement of existing codec algorithm
• Performing Research and Feasibility Studies including defining the scope and goals of audio codec research tasks and completion of detailed reports on results and recommendations for development activities
• Development of new algorithmic IP for audio codec solutions in the form of invention report submissions.


Qualifications:

• PhD degree in electrical engineering with concentration on communication, digital signal processing and correlated areas
• Familiarity/experience with subband processing used in audio coding and perceptual audio codec design
• Knowledge of codec algorithms such as SBC, MP3, AAC, OPUS, aptX and others
• Solid background knowledge in digital signal processing and mathematics
• Proven publication records in scholarly conferences or journals with international circulation in the field of audio or speech processing
• Strong knowledge and extensive working experience with Matlab for algorithm development
• Experience in analyzing audio problems using tools such as Matlab, Adobe Audition and objective evaluation tools
• Knowledge of fixed-point programming and effects on algorithm development
• Ability to work without close supervision
• Ability to guide and assist members of the group on technical issues
• Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
• Excellent communications and organizational skills
• Excellent team player

Audio Researcher - Active Noise Cancellation

We are looking for an Audio Researcher to be involved with the design and improvement of algorithmic solutions for active (ambient) noise cancellation (ANC) applications such as headphone, ear bud and automotive. The person filling this role will take an active part in implementing the overall strategy for ANC features.


Responsibilities:

• Supporting project management including the definition of project scope and schedule for assigned projects
• Maintenance and improvement of existing ANC algorithm(s)
• Performing research and feasibility studies including defining the scope and goals of ANC research tasks and completion of detailed reports on results and recommendations for development activities
• Development of new algorithmic IP for ANC solutions in the form of invention report submissions
• Development of new algorithmic audio processing solutions including the existing areas above and also including state of the art 3D audio and other audio/music effects


Qualifications:

• Familiarity/experience with adaptive filtering techniques in the time and frequency domains
• Experience with ANC algorithms (fixed and adaptive controllers) including feed-forward, feedback and hybrid controllers
• Solid background in digital signal processing and mathematics
• Proven publication records in scholarly conferences or journals with international circulation in the field of audio or speech processing
• Strong knowledge and extensive working experience with Matlab for algorithm development
• Experience in analyzing audio problems using tools such as Matlab, Adobe Audition and objective evaluation tools
• Knowledge of fixed-point programming and effects on algorithm development
• Ability to work without close supervision
• Ability to guide and assist members of the group on technical issues
