Automatic Loudspeaker Directivity Control for Sound Field Reconstruction

The paper proposes an enhancement to sound field reconstruction, which improves spatial perception and widens the sweet spot size of the 5.1-multichannel system. Instead of radiating sound directly as in the original setup, a switch was designed to separate the direct and diffuse sound fields. The direct field was radiated normally, and the diffuse field was scattered with a loudspeaker / diffuser pair.
