Steve Berkowitz is a 5 time Grammy and Double Blues Award winning producer with a 40 year career working with artists ranging from Tony Bennett, Leonard Cohen, Jewel, Roseanne Cash, Branford Marsalis, John Legend and T.Bone Burnett, to Willie Nelson. He has supervised or produced re-issue music by such artists as Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, Johnny Cash, Paul Simon, Simon & Garfunkel, Muddy Waters, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Robert Johnson, and Duke Ellington. Most recently he assisted with the audio compilation for Martin Scorsese’s Bob Dylan ROLLING THUNDER REVUE.
Prior to his 25-year tenure at Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings/Sony Music, Steve was an artist manager (including The Cars and Ministry). He has served as a musician, agent, radio DJ, tour and production manager, concert promoter, truck driver and NCAA basketball referee.
Steve Berkowitz has been a NARAS member for over 30 years; a participating member of the Blues Foundation’s Hall Of Fame Committee and an original and current voting member of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
