AES New York 2019 Presenter or Author

Chris Kincaid

Primary Affiliation: Audio Builders Workshop - Louisville, KY, USA
Secondary Affiliation: IUPUI - Indianapolis, IN, USA

I'm a musician, audio engineer, and educator spending my free time building synthesizers and audio equipment. I should probably go outside more.

I have been recording and mixing audio for over a decade, specializing in experimental and concert music. It has been my absolute pleasure to record and/or mix recordings of folks like the Louisville Orchestra, Longleash Piano Trio, Faust, Rachel Grimes, Tim Barnes, and many others. I lecture at Indiana University - Purdue University, Indianapolis as well as Bellarmine University on topics of digital audio and applied music technology. I've led workshops, given presentations, and sat on panels for music technology and building audio circuits at conferences and trade shows including AES, Musikmesse, PASIC, and AMTA. I will present my collaborative paper on applied music pedagogy in June at ICMC-NYCEMF, 2019 and am co-chairing the 2019 AES NY conference's DIY audio track. My music can be found on Spotify, Bandcamp, and through my website at ChrisKincaid.com.
