Sadah Espii Proctor

Sadah Espii Proctor is a Brooklyn-based director and sound/video designer working in theatre, immersive experiences, and virtual reality. She is a video engineer for Blue Man Group, and has collaborated on visuals for EXO-TECH (featuring Kimbra and Sophia Brous), Neycha, Sabine Blaizin (Oyasound), and Soul Science Lab. She is also an associate sound designer for Andrew Schneider Performance and has had her work featured at BAM, JACK, HERE Arts Center, Bushwick Art Studios, Harlem Stage.
Named by American Theatre Magazine as one of “6 Theatre Workers You Should Know”, Espii is also a previous Member of NEW INC, and a VR Filmmaker in Oculus’ VR For Good Creators Lab. She made her VR directorial debut with El Testigo at Barcelona’s Salón del Cine y las Series for the film as part of Garage Stories. Her most recent spatial soundscape was for collaborator Wi-Moto Nyoka’s play, El Otro Lado Del Destino, with support from NYC’s Fresh Ground Pepper Festival and the European binaural audio consortium BINCI. Espii is also continuing development of her original spatial soundscape “Preface of a Gray”, which premiered at The Cube, Virginia Tech’s four-story black box with a 150-multichannel speaker system.
Influenced by Afrofuturism, Cyberpunk, and Visual Kei movements, Espii’s work creates imagined futures, critiques technology’s growing presence in society, and joins together spectacle and story.
