Mark Mynett is a record producer/mixing, mastering and live music engineer, and has been a Senior Lecturer in Music Technology and Production at the University of Huddersfield since 2006.

Working with renowned producers Colin Richardson and Andy Sneap, Mark had an extensive career as professional musician with six worldwide commercial album releases , and several years of high-profile touring in Europe. A natural progression of his long held passion and interest in the recording and production side of the industry saw him engineer, produce and mix the last two of these albums. From here, a 10-year career as self-employed record producer within the indie, rock and metal genres commenced.

Mark has recently collaborated on a number of projects with distinguished world-class producers Jens Bogren (Sweden) and Ryan Williams (US), and frequently write production articles for various music tech publications, including Sound on Sound, Guitar World and Computer Music. He is also the author of the world’s first book on producing modern metal music: ‘Metal Music Manual: Producing, Engineering, Mixing and Mastering Contemporary Heavy Music’, released in March 2017 and published by Taylor and Francis.

In recent years, he has increased his involvement within the live music arena, with front-of-house engineer highlights including Download Festival and Bloodstock Festival.
