TT06 - Ambiphonics Institute
Ambiophonics is loudspeaker-based binaural reproduction of two channel audio. Come to learn and experience audio in 2D, 3D, and VR in the latest Ambiophonic way. The demonstration will include six systems ranging from a tiny soundbar to The Domestic Concert Hall which will duplicate the Sydney Opera House via 28 electrostatic and 2 CBT panels. Examples of localization cue distortion will be played and strategies for eliminating it will be discussed. And for history buffs, 78RPM acoustic Victrolas plus a selection of audio antiques courtesy of the Audio History Library.
Lunch is provided.
2 hour tour (with transportation to the uptown Port Authority Terminal for any who want to stay longer)
Space limited to 60 people
Participants need to be ticketed and travel with the tour group to attend a technical tour.
