Primary Affiliation: Fraunhofer IIS, Erlangen - Erlangen, Germany
Sascha Disch received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH) in 1999 and joined the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS) the same year. Ever since he has been working in research and development of perceptual audio coding and audio processing. From 2007 to 2010 he was a researcher at the Laboratory of Information Technology, Leibniz University Hannover (LUH), receiving his Doctoral Degree (Dr.-Ing.) in 2011. He contributed to the standardization of MPEG Surround, MPEG Unified Speech and Audio Coding (USAC) and MPEG-H 3D Audio. His research interests as a Senior Scientist at Fraunhofer IIS and a member of the International Audio Laboratories Erlangen include waveform and parametric audio coding, audio bandwidth extension and digital audio effects.
