Arne Nykänen is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie European Fellow at the Cultures of the Digital Economy Research Institute (CoDE), Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, UK. He is on temporary leave from a position as Senior Lecturer of Engineering Acoustics at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden. In 2008 he took a PhD degree in Engineering Acoustics at Luleå University of Technology, with a thesis titled "Methods for Product Sound Design". Currently he is mainly working with research on the design of sounds for user interfaces in cars. He has conducted research in close cooperation with both Volvo Car Corporation and Scania.
