AES New York 2015 Presenter or Author

Tim Shuttleworth

Tim Shuttleworth

Primary Affiliation: Renkus Heinz - Oceanside, CA, USA

From a fascination with high performance analog through a conversion to mixed signal and digital signal processing to a passion for networked audio, Tim Shuttleworth’s current engineering focus is on audio in a networked world. He edited the Emerging Trends Report for the AES Technical Committee on Networked Audio Systems published in November 2011. He became an Audio Engineering Society member 35 years ago and was recently awarded a Fellowship. His first technical paper presentation was to the AES 64th and, discussing the use of multiplying D to A converters as volume controls, marked his transition from a high end analog design engineer into the world of mixed signal. More recently he presented a paper at the 135th AES convention on evaluation of dynamics processors. His first foray into professional audio was with Neve, where he led the design of large scale audio mixing consoles. Prior to joining Renkus-Heinz in 2008 he was VP Engineering for the Stanton Group and spent several years as Director of Electronics Technology at JBL Professional. Tim has previously served on the committees for the Chicago and Los Angeles AES Chapters and as a session moderator and papers reviewer for the AES 44th Conference on Networked Audio. He is cited as inventor in thirteen US patents.
