Eric Boulanger of The Mastering Lab is a classically trained violinist who has performed at some of the most celebrated venues in the country. He has mixed and/or mastered records across a variety of genres with credits including Colbie Caillat, OneRepublic, Neil Young, Kate Bush, and Chris Botti.

As a NARAS Steering Committee member, Eric Boulanger is a leader of the Producers & Engineers Wing of The Recording Academy (GRAMMYs) and was the first Mastering Engineer to master a Mastered for iTunes (MFiT) release (Colbie Caillat’s “All of You”) – MFiT is a collaboration between Apple and The Recording Academy to improve the quality of downloaded music in an effort to advance the burgeoning digital download industry and enhance the listening experience for music fans around the world.

Eric received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2007. A distinguished scholar while at Carnegie Mellon, Eric was awarded the Bose Corporation Research Award, the Electrical & Computer Engineering Honors Society Research Award presented by Lockheed Martin, and the Sigma XI Scientific Research Award. Eric continues to strive for excellence as both a violinist and engineer, ceaselessly cultivating the synergy that stems from being a consummate performer and an accomplished engineer of music.
