Redundancy within a digital network for audio transport has specific requirements when compared to redundancy for usual data networks, and for this reason several practical implementations offer dual network ports. Ideas and solutions from current formats will be presented, detailing requirements specific to usage cases, such as digital audio transport for live events or for install. The discussion will include also non-IP audio networks. Different topologies and switchover issues will be presented, and practical real-world examples will be shown.
