L'Auditori, inaugurated in 1999, is music's new cultural complex in Barcelona and one of the most frequented musical venues in the country.
Located in the Auditori, the Higher School of Music of Catalonia is the only public center in Catalonia to offer higher level music studies. It is a center that aims to reflect the diversity of the musical panorama in Catalonia, understanding music not only as a professional phenomenon but also as having a very important social dimension and function. Offering a degree in Sonology, the Higher School of Music of Catalonia takes the lead at the Spanish level in the training of professionals who, from the musical field, will have an influence in the new Information Society. Based on solid training, the sonologists graduating from the school will be able to confront the present and future challenges of the music profession within the context of information technologies.
