T3: AT&T Labs Research

This tour of the research and development organization of AT&T featured a demonstration of Verdi, a delivery mechanism for music and video via the Internet and will show how errors in audio coding are detected and corrected. A demonstration of Sandy Fraser's (inventor of ATM) home network illustrated the networking of audio, video, cable, TV, and telephone for home use. Finally, a tour of the AT&T listening room, which was designed as a critical listening facility, featured a demonstration of perceptual sound field reconstructions.
