Message from the Chair of the Education Committee

Dear Students and Educators,

The 111th AES Convention will again feature many education events. In particular, I would like to draw your attention to the Recording and Poster Competitions.

Please take a look at the Recording Competition guidelines for the NY Convention. Students are also encouraged to submit a scholarly paper for the Poster Session. For instructions and submission forms, download this Word file or this PDF file.

Note that each school or program may submit one recording in each category. Based on the Amsterdam model, I have included the category of "Surround Sound". We will only set up for surround sound if you notify me in advance that you are submitting a project in that format.

All projects will be collected at the first Student Delegate Assembly meeting on Friday afternoon, November 30st, at 2PM.

Please note that the Education Fair is currently scheduled for Saturday, December 1nd, from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM. You may request a table to display materials of your audio education program.

The Education Fair follows the Educators Forum, to which you are invited. We have also added a Mentoring Session which follows the first Student Delegate Assembly. Keith Hatschek of Keith Hatschek Associates will moderate. We will also provide one-on-one mentoring sessions with industry professionals for AES student members. A student mixer will follow.

I look forward to seeing you in New York.

Warm regards,
Don Puluse
Chair, AES Education Committee Chair
