The Technical Committee on Coding presented a tutorial workshop on perceptual coding. Experts from the field discussed the basics of coding, filterbanks, perceptual models, temporal issues, testing issues, and multichannel issues. The presentations were from a basic, conceptual point of view, rather than a detailed or product-oriented viewpoint. A Q/A period followed each presentation and wrapped up the workshop.
