BAAM TO CO-HOST 105TH AES CONVENTION PARTY AT SF'S YERBA BUENA CENTER

SAN FRANCISCO: AES 105th Convention co-chairs David Robinson and Valerie Tyler report that opening day events will be capped by a gala party jointly hosted by the San Francisco Bay Area Audio Manufacturers (BAAM) and the Audio Engineering Society. The event will be held at SF's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts on Saturday evening, September 26, 1998, from 8:00 to 11:00 pm.

"AES members and show exhibitors are equally buoyant about the concept of a party for a large contingent of AES attendees rather than a banquet," says Robinson. "Having been personally involved with the planning of the party, I'm confident that this year's event promises to be bigger and better than the last." Local entertainment and cuisine will be available continuously during the evening throughout the center, including the charming outdoor East and sculpture gardens. Over 1,600 people are expected to attend. Yerba Buena is located directly behind the Moscone Convention Center, site of the 105th AES Convention.

Valerie Tyler emphasizes that admission is limited to ticket holders. Tickets are available from the AES at $30 each for members (limit 2 per member); $40 for non-AES members (limit 4), and exhibitors (minimum 10).

Formed in 1948 by a group of concerned audio engineers, the AES counts over 12,000 members throughout U.S., Europe, Japan and the Far East, and serves as the pivotal force in the exchange and dissemination of technical information for the industry.
