AES: Educational Directory Listings

Francis Rumsey

The purpose of this Directory of Educational Programs is to provide members and prospective students with information about schools, universities, colleges, and other institutions which offer education and training in audio engineering and related fields. In preparing recent editions of the Directory, attempts have been made to increase its international content and relevance, and that trend is continued in this new edition.

This edition includes more details about courses and institutions than previous editions. For example, the Directory now shows whether a course has an internship/work placement and a validating body. Email addresses have also been included, as have contact names for each course. The AES Education Committee has also tried to rationalize the information so that it is not repeated unnecessarily. This form can be used to provide new or updated information for the website.

In publishing this information the AES is not attempting to provide a list of recommended or approved courses; it simply aims to offer an information resource for those wishing to find out more about what courses are available. For the information contained here, the AES is entirely dependent on responses obtained from the organizations concerned. The absence of information on a program indicates a lack of information from the organization.

The AES Education Committee welcomes your responses to the content, format, and usefulness of the Directory, particularly with respect to international content and coursetype classifications.
